Instructions for Christmas
Lector 2, get ready to read the Proclamation of the Nativity of the Lord (before the music plays).
Wait for the priest’s signal.
Practice the Proclamation of the Birth – English (click here)
Lector 1, be ready with the Book of the Gospels to process in as normal.
Choirs, wait until after the Proclamation is read, then announce the number for the hymn, give the people some time, and begin singing.
Remember to set the hymn numbers on the board before Mass.
Choirs, you will sing for longer than usual as the priest will carry in the baby Jesus, will incense and bless him before kissing the altar.
Choirs, you will sing the Gloria. Ask the priest before Mass if you will sing the “Lord have mercy” or not.
Everything else should be normal except…
For the Midnight Mass, Lector, the first reading is in English and the 2nd reading is in Spanish.
Thank you!
